College of Agricultural, Consumer, and Environmental Sciences (ACES) Computer Recommendations

The College of Agriculture, Consumer, and Environmental Sciences (ACES) programs do not restrict students from choosing between PC or Mac. Any computer capable of checking emails, writing papers, and connecting to the campus network should be fine. For the Department of ACE in the College of ACES, we strongly prefer PCs over Macs.

  • Minimum of 8GB of memory but 16GB would be preferred.
  • Minimum of 256GB of SSD storage is recommended.
  • Windows 11 is strongly preferred.

While tablets and iPads are still great for taking notes on, they are not recommended to be used as primary devices.

Tech Zone has a selection Dell PCs that would be suitable for the College of Agriculture, Consumer, and Environmental Sciences' coursework.

Microsoft Office 365 including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are available to all students free of charge from the Webstore (opens in a new tab).
