General Studies Computer Recommendations

University of Illinois does not have any computer requirements for General Studies students. You should however be mindful of what your needs may turn into to avoid needing to buy another computer sooner than would otherwise be necessary. Below are Tech Zone's minimum recommendations for a student laptop. These are not university requirements but only suggestions from Tech Zone.

  • Minimum of 16GB of memory.
  • Minimum of 256GB of storage if also using cloud storage.
  • PC or Mac is user preference.
